Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the openED platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

2. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate information when creating your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform. Accounts found to be in violation may be suspended or terminated.

3. Course content

Creators retain ownership of all content they publish on openED. By publishing a course, you grant openED a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content to enrolled learners through the platform.

Creators are responsible for ensuring their content does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights, contain unlawful material, or misrepresent credentials or qualifications.

4. Payments and refunds

Course purchases are processed through Stripe. Creators receive 80% of each sale; openED retains 20% as a platform fee.

Refund requests are evaluated at openED's discretion on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact support@opened.com within 14 days of purchase.

openED does not store credit card information. All payment data is handled by Stripe and subject to their terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Upload content that is harmful, abusive, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems.
• Scrape or systematically extract content from the platform without permission.
• Resell or redistribute course content you have purchased.

6. Limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. openED is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to openED in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
